Why I’m Here

After seeing the movie ‘Julie and Julia’  I was excited to see what I could do. I wanted to cook through a cookbook.

I’ve done minor baking before. Stuff along the lines of a random batch of cookies at midnight with my friends while dancing around the kitchen to upbeat music. But this was different. This was one of those really exciting ideas. My mom has always said ‘you should cook through a cookbook!’ after seeing my awe in the said movie. Then one day it happened.

Our friends a couple Christmases ago had given us a cookbook. I wasn’t overly excited with the prospect of a new cookbook in the house. I mean we have a lot of them (an entire cupboard and shelf dedicated to them). Then last week I picked it up. I don’t know what it was. Maybe it was the wonderful Photoshopped breads and pies pictures. Or the squareness of it. Or the different things I would make. All I know is I was dying to cook every recipe in the book.

So I will!! And I’ll post it on this blog!!

A few things about me:

  • I’m 16
  • My name is Megan
  • The cookbook is called ‘Baking at Home with The Culinary Institute of America’

Thank you for reading all that!!
